IDEAS TO COUNTER TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN

§       Public Forum to Counter Terrorism.    Establishing a forum at National level, where public can, report act of terrorism, provide info about any suspicious activity and give ideas for Plan of Action against Terrorism in Pakistan.

§      Toll Free Anti-Terror Emergency Contact Service.    Must be free of Cost.        SMS based reporting facility to be included in the service. Accessible in all Parts of the country especially in Remote Areas. Net-centricity based sharing of Information both vertically and horizontally must be ensured. To be linked with Joint Emergency Control Room and Regional Rapid Response Teams. Requisite laws to avoid misuse and/ or Info Overload be made. 

§  Biometric Identification System (BIS). NICs based on Biometric system (Facial/ Body recognition) should be issued to all citizens of Pakistan. Mob teams should be formed for Biometric regn of the Citizens. Biometric NICs (B-NICs) should be made mandatory for Bank accounts/ transfers, SIM Registration, Entry Cards for sensitive areas, Car/ veh purchase, Weapons/ Driving License, Land/ House rent, New/ renewal of Passport/ Visa requests etc. CCTV cams capable to read facial signatures should be installed at all important public places in a phased program. In first phase B-NICs of relatives of hardcore Terrorists, suspects involved in Terrorism cases on bail, all criminals in jails, Imams of Madaaris and suspects reported by public should be made and kept under surveillance.   

     Strengthening Community System against Terrorism. Community system down till Muhallahs should be formalized/ strengthened.  In Urban Areas, Units comprising 10-20 houses should be formed. In Rural Areas each village should be considered as a Unit. Community (Mohalla/ Society) leaders should be Nominated/ elected and listed by respective Union Council. Community Units should work in the framework of respective Union Councils and District Councils. Renting/ purchase of Land/ houses should be made after approval of respective community leader. Owner, Neighbors and Community leader should be held accountable incase a particular house is used as base for any Terrorist activity.

Old Wise Guy Tell me the reality

Living in the past trying to gather few glimpses of good old times to soothe and relieve the soul. But as I peep deeper my joy suddenly start to sour. It could have been much better if I could have traveled a bit longer in life with the people whom I loved the most.

      Life is a mystery which remains unsolved. May be these old wise guys know the truth but they get silent and absorbed and don’t want to disclose the reality to us. Or maybe the reality is revealed to us in bits and pieces but it’s the matter of solving the jigsaw. None of us wants to play these puzzling games and everybody takes today as a present, future as mystery and past as history.But you cannot detach your soul from the past and "hope" from the future while living in present.

     After every milestone I achieve there is another standing tall as mountain. I take a sigh and get going with a new vigor toward an unknown destiny. It’s a vicious cycle and newer ends. The wise old guy known’s it all but remains silent. “Come on man don’t be selfish”. But he just passes a mysterious smile and does not answer any thing.

We should come out of “conspiracy theory” mindset. If we are weak, anybody can plunder us. We need to consolidate and should not dissipate our energies into false calls of “Jihaad”. Work hard ,be professional, maintain high ethical values, be patriot and exercise true values of Islam. People like Usama have done more damage to Islam than any favors. Lets make ourself strong enough to stand against any misadventures by our enemies. We need to peep into gray areas of our society and waste less of time in criticizing those who are beyond our circle of influence. Any emotional outrage will not do any favor to the country.
